NON-NEGOTIABLES are moral issues that we of the church fully understand. These are issues we will not compromise because the God we worship has commanded us to care.
    We will not vote against these issues. We will not vote against any element of these issues, no matter how small and 'insignificant.'
    We will not vote for candidates of any office that are indifferent to these moral issues. If they are indifferent to moral issues, they are indifferent to God, and they are indifferent to we who worship Him.
    We will not stop voicing our opinion that these moral issues must be upheld, even if they are 'legal'.
    We will not stop praying for these moral issues to regain the importance they used to have in western culture for two thousand years.
   

 
    

 

    In the elections to come, the Citizens of the Book and the Salt & Light Council will keep the pastors and congregations informed of all issues and candidates as they pertain to our moral NON-NEGOTIABLES.
  Our votes will be carefully considered, prayed about, and Biblical.

    
      The basis for marriage was determined in   Genesis 1 - "Male and female He made   them...And He blessed them (the first   wedding) and told them to multiply." Marriage   is reserved for one man and one woman.   While those who suffer with gender confusion   are in deep emotional  pain, it is still   unreasonable to demand that this 6,000   year- old institution should be redefined to   accommodate their differences  from people   who are not so afflicted.  We are commanded   to hold firm in our moral stand on marriage -   one man and one woman, as  our California   Constitution in Article 1, Section   7.5.   (Prop   8), and the Bible says. We can pray for God to   heal the gender confused.

        DNA can identify criminals, relatives, and types of species.   Present in an embryo just a few days old, this visible substance
   will give rise to invisible mind, invisible self-awareness, invisible   consciousness, invisible sentience, and invisible sapience.
     Destroying a human who possesses such DNA at any age, is   mentioned in Genesis and Matthew as murder. Jesus said that the   greatest thing one can do is to lay down your life for another.
      When one takes on pregnancy, childbirth, and child-rearing,   they've certainly laid down their life 'for another'. When one cares   for a loved one, whether they are too ill or to infirm to care for   themselves, such sacrifice is what Jesus meant and it is what Jesus   Himself did for us.
     Moral cowards will not go through pregnancy, childbirth, and   child-rearing, excusing their fear with 'it's inconvenient now."      Those who allow the government to take the life of an ill or   infirm relative are expressing greed of Satanic proportions."Putting   them our of their misery" is a common excuse for this crime.
     This is why abortion and euthanasia are moral issues. They are   not matters of convenience or expedience - they are the very   essence of why God gave His Son to die for us.
     Jesus is our example, whether bringing life into the world, or   taking a life out of the world. We are not God, and we have to   trust His judgment when moral issues collide with our will .

     Scientists everywhere rejoiced when our government decided that
  morals should not be an issues when performing human cloning or   embryonic stem cell research (ESCR).
     Regardless of these base-less opinions,  evidence has been available   for years that ESCR does not provide any  cures or preventions for one   condition. Human cloning is so egregious it's difficult to comprehend   the Hitlerian mind-set that believes such a process is useful, or could be   somewhere in the distant future.
     These scientists and the government do not care about evidence   because scientific companies in California received billions of dollars of   tax-payer money to pay for this 'research'. Our national treasury will   continue to be looted for such nonsense as long as we allow it.
     Human cloning is nothing more than scientific genocide. It was   practiced by the Nazis to justify their unspeakable torture during   WWII.
   The next time there is an initiative on the ballot for 'embryonic stem   cell research', we'll all be more aware of this situation. If the church   body and other faith-based people stand together on this moral issue,   this travesty of human cloning will not be  funded by discerning   Christians again. (click to close)

     Homosexuality was de-listed as a mental disorder in 1973.  5 years later,   the psychiatrist who got it de-listed said his research was flawed and it   really is a symptom of a damaged personality. But, the genie was out of   the bottle, and few  people are aware of this information.
     Homosexuals know this information, however. They realize if they claim   to be a 3rd gender, or entitled to 'civil rights'  because their 'sexual   preference' is an immutable quality,  then they can win a lot of people to   their side of this moral  issue.
     However, too many people who did not want same-sex attraction went   through therapy, or found God and restored  their gender identity to their   original sexual self. Too many clinics that do this work, and too many   support- groups that counsel these people exist now. Clinics have high   success rates with this   work.  
     We must hold them with love in our hearts, because they have suffered    when they were very young. But such kindness does not mean that we   ignore our morals  because they hate us or feel offended.
     Marriage is not a right - it is a state of partnership for which  one only    needs to meet certain qualifications to get married.  One of those   qualifications is to marry someone of the opposite sex. If someone does   not qualify, despite the pain they've suffered that has warped their   judgment, we are to hold firm in the midst of their temper tantrums.
     Jesus did not give in to his tormnters, and we will not either.
