My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge... Hosea 4: 6
A dedicated friend of Israel, Pastor Leo has led at least one service mission a year for nearly 30 years to the land of God's chosen people. Pastor Leo is greatly respected for his mentorship of other leaders in America and around the world.
Their selfless hard work and leadership inspire us to go out and serve in the world of government, arming us to honor the God who loved us enough to give us His Son, and this wonderful nation.
Indeed, MCVF is filled with spirit-led seasoned prayer warriors, such as these, who provide a foundation of strength and faith for our work and all the numerous ministries of MVCF.
We believe the Lord commissioned us to bring our land back to His love. Having raised our hands and said, "Here am I; send me", we join forces with other houses of God. All of these combined Christian citizenship ministries work through the Salt and Light Council to labor in His Name for our country.
Such a commission invites spiritual warfare from all sides. We of the COTB, fortified by the prayers and actions of our capable and supportive pastors and church, are well-armed to face the battles head-on. It is our mission and our joy
to humbly lay our sacrifices on the altar of our Lord Jesus Christ. With every step, every stumble, and every victory, we praise God and give Him all the glory.
The Citizens of the Book is a group of faith-based Americans (some who have a church-home and some that do not) who believe that Christianity has done more to advance the standard of living in the world than any other force in existence.
We also believe that the United States has given much to the world that has increased life expectancy (anti-biotics), improved the quality of life (air-conditioning, DDT, the electric light bulb), shrunk the world in the time it takes to travel great distances (airplanes), and has put us in touch with every place on the globe that has a computer (the internet).
Americans have also spilled our own blood and spent our own treasure to free people all over the world from tyranny and slavery. These are people who did not and do not look like us, do not speak our language or share our customs or heritage. In some of these countries, our military must maintain a force that will continue to protect the citizens of these foreign countries.
But our Christian heritage will not allow us to do otherwise. Jesus Christ taught us by His own example: "You can do no greater thing than to lay down your life for another."
Because our Founders believed our rights and blessings come from God, they created our founding documents and our government with these Christian principles in mind. Funding for a strong defense that includes rescuing total strangers from the threat of terror is mandated in our American Constitution.
Jesus also told us, "To whom much is given, much is required."
Proud Americans who understand our history voluntarily serve in our military to fulfill these Constitutional imperatives and to defend the United States.
